Education of participation – how to do it more effectively and consciously?
Moderator:
Maria Henzler, animator and educator from ‚BORIS’ association, trainer and supervisor of Association for Non-Governmental Organization Trainers STOP
Time: Day 1. (June 2., Thursday), hrs: 15:30 – 17:30
Format: Workshop session – exchange of experiences + broadening knowledge on adult education.
Description:
Education is one of many challenges that people involved in participation on a daily basis face. Often those – local authorities, citizens – who take part in various forms of participation and decision making processes lack the knowledge on how to impact them and have difficulties expressing their needs and opinions, also their level of engagement in the dialogue is not sufficient. Thus there is a need that all pro-participation activities should be accompanied by education elements (that are planned in advance but at some times they are made ad hoc due to different public situations). This session will provide guidance on how to consciously shape educational situations, how to get better and better in this field and what tools should be used. Together we shall try to identify the competences required by such situations and discuss the ways to acquire them. The session is recommended to those who either have already experienced teaching others or expect that this might happen in a foreseeable future.
