Quick drawing – about graphical facilitation, beautiful flip charts and how to recognize the meaning of words
Moderator: Dorota Kostowska, graphic facilitator, webinar specialist, public speaking trainer (dorotakostowska.pl).
Time: 2. Day (Friday, June 3.), hrs 12:45-14:15
Format: training session
Description:
Are you organizing a consultation event, meeting, or debate? Do you want the participants to focus better on the subject and objective? Do you want the meeting’s outcome be more visible and understandable? Or perhaps you would like to make the participants express themselves in a more concrete and clearer manner? Interest yourself in graphical facilitation – a way to organize debates and meetings that attaches as much importance to images as to words, and in which all the discussions could be recreated thanks to graphical records.
We invite you to the quick drawing experience and we will show you:
- how to prepare for meetings so that the visual thinking potential is utilized
- how to make use of a flip chart so that everything on the chart supports the objective
- how to draw simple symbols (after this workshop drawing Superman will be a piece of cake)
- how to write in a readable manner, so that even people sitting in the last rows could make use of your work
- how to use graphical metaphors when working with a group
- how to summarize meetings with a visual wrap-up
The session is dedicated to anyone who scribbles over a flip chart and claims they do not know how to draw. The session will be of much use to anyone how carries out, or wants to carry out, meetings in an active manner. The most important objective is not to gain an art diploma, but to improve the way we communicate with our meetings’ participants, to express our ideas more effectively, to provide more effective summaries, and to support our groups in reaching planned goals.
All of these could be done via having a basic competency of drawing, and finding one’s own style. Open minds and hands eager to draw are the only requirements.
