Social media is the most common communication channel. It could be very helpful in building engagement around ideas and projects in the field of participation. In order to capitalize on it, one should abide a few simple rules that help in assembling a broad spectrum of social media users. Maneuvering through the social media world could be like stepping on thin ice. It is very easy to cause disturbance that could be disseminated at the speed of sound. It is worth knowing a few practices that can be helpful in solving problems without causing a loss of trust among the receivers.
The session: Social media at the service of participation aims at explaining why this communication channel is worth using when promoting participation budget ideas, which communities should be engaged when creating communication framework, and how they should be engaged. We shall discuss the selection of content so that it is not only attractive to the receivers, but also contains the maximum amount of information. Finally, the participants will find out how to react to the comments we’d rather not see in social media.
