When introducing paticipatory approach into the structures of local administration, one can face various attitudes towards such an innovation. There are always some local officials who do not belive in participation and actively resist it. Fortunately, there are also always some individuals who understand the importance of engaging citizens in decision-making processes and intuitively try to introduce new quality into relations between the administration and citizens.
During this session we will try to figure out what needs to be done to turn such promising officials into true participation practitioners. How to find them in local administration? How to convince them that their work really makes sense? How to motivate them and support them in their efforts?
We invite to join the discussion especially those who work in local administration or cooperate with local officials and would like to share their observations on this topic.
